The Medical Center hosted a diabetes forum tonight for all those interested in learning more about the disease effecting so many.
Doctors and dietitians were on hand to explain the causes and how to manage diabetes, and one dietitian talks about the warning signs.
"Increased thirst, increased urination can also be a warning sign, and again, just not feeling well generally... possibly some weight loss. Those types of things, and perhaps getting dizzy and having blurry vision as well, can be some of the signs," said The Medical Center Community Dietitian Linda Howsen.
Howsen says anyone who suspects they may have diabetes should see and doctor, and they will give you a blood test that can easily determine if you are diabetic, or show pre-diabetic signs. She says treatment is more effective today than ever.
