BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Thomas Upton was on the run from police, after breaking into several vehicles in South Central Kentucky. He was targeting unlocked cars and cars left unattended while running. Last week, Kentucky State Police warned all citizens about the danger of Upton.
He stole a running vehicle from South Gate Minute Mart, in Glasgow . After police chased him, an arrest warrant was presented for fleeing and evading.
Upton was vandalizing cars, removing all valuables and dropping the cars off in random locations.
Last night, around 9:30, police caught up with Upton in Barren County.
"We were contacted, stating that Mr. Upton was going to be at a residence located on Boatman Road in Barren County. Kentucky State Police was able to go to the residence and place Mr. Upton under arrest," said Trooper Biven, KSP Public Information Officer.
Upton arrived at the location with intention of selling a stolen four-wheeler. He was not alone. Police also arrested his wife, Greta Upton and Gabriel Rosales. Both are charged with “receiving stolen property under $10,000 and hindering prosecution and apprehension”.
Thomas Upton shares these charges, along with “possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia and fleeing and evading.
"I want to thank the citizens of Barren County for giving us the help we needed to capture him," said Trooper Biven, KSP Public Information Officer.
