HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police in Hopkinsville are trying to piece together what happened inside a house where a husband, wife and adult son were found dead.
Sgt. Kyle Spurlin told the Kentucky New Era that investigators are looking at the Saturday morning deaths of 68-year-old Tommie Summers, 67-year-old Linda Summers and their son, 38-year-old Brian Summers as a murder-suicide.
Through the weekend, police were trying to determine which person fired the shots.
Tommie and Linda Summers were pronounced dead inside their home. Brian Summers was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victims were found by another son when he arrived at the house around 9:45 a.m. and called for help.
Spurlin says a dog was also shot, but is expected to survive.
