We've been telling you about how area communities are helping those in need this holiday season.

The Tompkinsville Police and Volunteer Fire Departments are hosting their annual food drive.

All food collected goes to seniors in need throughout Monroe County.

And those who put the drive together say they wouldn't have collected anything without the people of Tompkinsville.

"The outpouring from the community has just been really great. We've had people give one can of food. We've had people give a whole cart of food. We've had them give one dollar, we've had them give a hundred dollars," says food drive coordinator, Wendell Owen.

The police and fire departments are done picking up food from collecting sites throughout Monroe County, but if you live in the area, you can still help!

If you want to help, they will come pick up any donations.
