BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- A federal judge has pushed back by four months, the trial of Barren County Sher riff Chris Eaton and two of his deputies charged with rights violations.
Chief Judge Joseph McKinley of the U.S. District Court of Western Kentucky, has reset the trial for Sheriff Chris Eaton and deputies Aaron Bennett and Eric Guffey, to December 3.
Prosecutors allege Eaton and the deputies used excessive force during an arrest in 2010, then lied to the FBI about their actions.
A concern was that the courthouse in Bowling Green could not accommodate the trial in August, because it coincided with another high-profile trial scheduled to begin August 28. That trial involves terrorism charges against Mohanad Shareef Hammadi from Iraq.
