LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The trial date for a Louisville man charged with killing a college student from Indiana, has been delayed eight months amid talk of a plea deal.

WHAS-AM reported Thursday, prosecutors have offered a plea deal to Gregory O'Bryan, who is charged with killing Sullivan University student Andrew Compton of Carmel, Ind.

O'Bryan's trial has been delayed until July 2013. A pretrial hearing is set for November.

Eighteen-year-old Compton disappeared Oct. 28, 2010. O'Bryan has said Compton died while they had sex, and he put the body in a garbage bin. The body has not been found.
