Truck Fire Causes Gridlock On I-65 Thursday Afternoon


WARREN / SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - Traffic came to a stand still for miles on Interstate 65 north bound near the Warren and Simpson county line just after 1:00 Thursday afternoon.

A semi hauling hot dogs to London., Kentucky caught fire and is now considered a total loss. The driver was able to make it out without any injuries. He says he smelled smoke in his cab and immediately pulled over.

When emergency crews arrived all northbound lanes were shut down for a short time while the flames were extinguished.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Traffic was backed up for at least 3 miles.
