Two Arrested in 19 Year Ohio County Murder Mystery

On Wednesday at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team executed the arrest warrants of Vernon and Debra Calloway. They were arrested without incident at their residence on Vine Hill Road outside Hartford.

Both Vernon Calloway and Debra Calloway were charged with one count of Murder; one count of Kidnapping; one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence and one count of Retaliation against a Participant in a Legal Process. All four charges are felonies. They were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.

KSP detectives presented this case to the Ohio County Grand Jury on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 after new information was discovered. The grand jury handed down an indictment warrant for Vernon and Debra Calloway.

Vernon Calloway is the ex-brother-in-law to Patricia Calloway. Debra Calloway would be the ex-sister-in-law to Patricia Calloway.

The Kentucky State Police have been investigating the suspicious disappearance of Patricia Calloway since March, 1993. She was last seen at her place of her employment in Hartford.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
