LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Authorities say two people from Elizabethtown have been arrested in Florida on child abuse and neglect charges.
According to WAVE-TV (http://bit.ly/1nQmf62 ), deputies in Bay County, Fla. approached a vehicle at a truck plaza Thursday and tried to make contact with 27-year-old Jonalan Chival, who had been wanted by police in Kentucky.
Chival ran into a wooded area, but he was eventually arrested. Authorities said a woman named Sarah Mooney and a child also were in the stolen vehicle. The child was taken into temporary state custody.
Deputies said they learned the child had been abused. Authorities said the child had black-and-blue marks and cuts on his body.
Chival was charged with battery, resisting an officer without violence and aggravated child abuse. Mooney was charged with child neglect and grand theft.
