A house fire investigation in Woodburn has been handed over to Kentucky State Police because officials believe it was arson.

The fire started on Woodburn Allen Springs Rd around 8 last night.

Firefighters say the blaze was contained in the back of the house.

Today, a state fire marshall and a KSP arson investigator were on scene to determine a possible cause.

And investigators believe it wasn't just an accident.

"They have taken some samples in which they think they may have an accelerant present. So they are continuing the investigation as an arson fire," says Woodburn Fire Chief Bob Skipper.

Kentucky State Police have started an investigation to find out who started the fire.

If you have any information call the arson tip line at 1-800-27-ARSON.
