DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Budget cuts will keep the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus from performing this year at Danville's Great American Brass Band Festival.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Friday the festival has adjusted its schedule for the June 7-9 event to accommodate the change.
Festival Director Niki Kinkade said Friday that the Under Secretary of Defense has directed all military bands and other ceremonial units to halt travel for the spring and summer months because of federal budget cuts.
She called the cancellation "unfortunate."
