The United Way of Southern Kentucky raised more than $1.7 million this year.
Of that $1.7 million, $1.2 million will go directly to their partner programs. This week, they're announcing exactly where that money will go in their ten county service area.
"What's going on in our community? Are we seeing more people have substance abuse issues, or poverty issues? Where do the dollars need to go to help the people that need it the most, and hundreds of volunteers spend countless hours reviewing grant applications, so we're able now to come back and come to these programs and say we're here to support you and here's how we're going to do it," said United Way of Southern Kentucky's Mandy Hicks.
Partner programs in Warren County alone will receive $740,000 from United Way. Tomorrow morning, they'll announce exactly where that money will go.
