Donations this year to the United Way of Southern Kentucky are up, and they may exceed expectations.

Companies that have already donated this year are up 7.5%.

The United Way expected the trend to continue since 46% of their campaigns run in October.

Holiday Bash sponsored by United Country Heartland Realty and Auction, Commonwealth Broadcasting, and WBKO is November 30 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit United Way.

They say donations from individuals will also play a big role in this year's goal of more than 1.7 million dollars.

"I can't imagine what the makeup of our Southern Kentucky Community would look like if we didn't have that 1.722 million dollars coming back and helping those in this community that need help. It is very important. It is all of us banding together we want those services to be there for people when they need them the most," says Mandy Baker.
