BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- United Way of Southern Kentucky kicked off another year of its regional campaign at the National Corvette Museum Thursday afternoon.
What's different this year is they're focusing more on how many they serve and less on the dollar amount.
The goal is to raise funding for 57,818 services across the region.
That's almost 3,500 more than last year when they raised nearly two-million dollars.
"We did reach that goal. So now if we translate that into services, we're going to be looking for over two million dollars this year, but again, the message we want to give you is the amount of services we're able to offer for the dollars that you give to us," said Ron Barbe, the regional campaign chair for United Way of Southern Kentucky.
United Way supports several non-profits across the area, including those which provide food for the hungry and shelter for domestic violence victims.
