Veterans Celebrate New VA Clinic in Bowling Green

"Any time we can serve as locally as we can, without veterans having to drive to Nashville, although we're lucky to have that facility only an hour away from here. But, anytime you can serve people locally, that's always a good thing," said ® U.S. House of Representatives.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Today marks the grand opening ceremony of the VA clinic in Bowling Green.

Veterans and community members rallied together for the ceremony this morning in Fairview Plaza.

In addition to meeting clinic staff, attendees had the opportunity to hear U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie speak on behalf of the Tennessee Valley Outpatient Clinic.

"Any time we can serve as locally as we can, without veterans having to drive to Nashville, although we're lucky to have that facility only an hour away from here. But, anytime you can serve people locally, that's always a good thing," said ® U.S. House of Representatives.

Although this is not the first VA clinic in Bowling Green, the veterans we spoke to say they are excited to have this new clinic in the community. The veterans also say they have not had any trouble setting up an appointment.
