RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Military veterans will work with artists, performers and others during a series of workshops starting Thursday at Eastern Kentucky University.
The Military Experience and the Arts Symposium is intended to teach veterans how to better tell their stories through the creative arts.
The workshops will focus on activities including writing, dance and theater. Events will also include the release of Volume 2 of The Journal of Military Experience. The university says the first volume compiled work from 19 Eastern students who have served in the military.
There's also an art exhibit on display throughout the symposium, which runs through Saturday. The exhibit tells the stories of war within Iraq and Afghanistan.
