HISEVILLE, Ky. -- Jeff Thompson of the Hiseville community would like to announce his candidacy for the position of Magistrate in District 4 in Barren County, on the Democratic ticket.
Jeff is a life-long resident of Hiseville, and raised his two sons there, as well. He is the son of Doris and the late Kenneth Thompson, both of whom were lifelong Hiseville natives.
Jeff, is a retired firefighter for the city of Glasgow; having retired with over twenty (20) years of service to the citizens of Glasgow and Barren County. He is currently an active volunteer firefighter, serving with the Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department. His experience as a volunteer fireman has often brought Jeff in contact with the present and former magistrates in Barren County.
Presently Jeff runs his own business from home, a landscaping and lawn care service & also drives a school bus for the Barren County School System, on a part-time basis.
Jeff hopes the residents of his district will support him in his candidacy. He would like to encourage everyone to speak freely with him on any matter that concerns the district, and the County as a whole. He seeks to be a voice for the people of Barren County, and to serve each and every person in the County to the best of his ability.
So far, three other candidates have filed to run for the post. Current district 4 magistrate, Tommy Matthews, is not seeking reelection.
