BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Wednesday morning one spot in Bowling Green looked a lot like the north pole.
More than 40 volunteers came out to Home Instead Senior Care off Campbell Lane to help wrap the more than 1,000 gifts that will be going to more than 800 seniors this holiday season. Officials with Home Instead said they were overwhelmed with the turnout, and they hope this holiday season, the seniors who are receiving the gifts will feel the same way.
"There could be an entire Christmas season go by and a senior not receive a gift, or a visit, or even a phone call. If this is the one thing they receive and it puts a smile on their face, it makes the entire effort worthwhile." said Home Instead Senior Care Owner, Brad Cannon.
Since the program started nine years ago, Cannon said around 5,500 seniors have benefited from the gift giving.
