Keeping campus clean is always a priority at WKU, but today the Student Government Association made it their mission.

Campus Clean-up Day is a tradition that dates back to WKU President Dr. Henry Hardin Cherry. SGA officials say twice a year they round up as many students as possible to do something as simple as pick up a piece of trash.

"We get gloves and plastic bags and we just work our way up and around the hill just cleaning up campus... picking up any littering or recycling we see," said WKU Student Government Vice President Keyana Boka.

Boka says the idea is for students to clean up after themselves and have pride in their school. The biology department even donated gloves and trash bags to help the effort.
