WKU Conducts Tornado Emergency Test

"We're going to go from this cold, snowy weather we've had to severe weather season, pop-up thunderstorms. We want to make sure that everyone is prepared and thinking about what they're going to do to protect themselves and their family," said Randy Huff, Southside Towing

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- WKU participated in a campus-wide tornado drill Wednesday to prepare for severe weather when it comes.

WKU tested its emergency communications network including the outdoor warning speakers.

It was just an informational drill, but emergency officials say it's important to be ready for these events.

"We're going to go from this cold, snowy weather we've had to severe weather season, pop-up thunderstorms. We want to make sure that everyone is prepared and thinking about what they're going to do to protect themselves and their family," said Randy Huff, Southside Towing.
