After coming off a big win against UK last weekend, the WKU football team is seeing success in more than one way.
The WKU ticket office is expecting to sell-out the game tomorrow against Southern Miss.
It seems to be a football frenzy on the WKU campus this week!
"Everyone seems to be wearing there colors, which is good, it's a good atmosphere," says WKU Student, Zachery Romando.
"It's totally different. It's a different energy, it's a different feel and everybody is really excited for a change," says Skylar Jordan, a WKU Alumni.
The Toppers are less than 2,000 tickets away from having a packed stadium, something they haven't achieved in a while.
"We haven't sold out since we've built the stadium, from the additions that we've added. It's been six or seven years since we've had a big crowd like this," says Matt Morrison, Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales and Operations.
Morrison says the stadium used to get a bigger crowd against in-state rivals like EKU and Murray, but even then, it wasn't a complete sell-out.
There are several events happening on campus to bring a bigger crowd to Bowling Green this weekend.
"We've got Parent and Family Weekend, FOCUS, our students are ready to come in here and support our Tops. So it's a lot of momentum-- a lot of fun this week," says Lindsay Boyden, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications
But several people say the crowd can be credited to one person.
"I credit Coach Taggart with a lot of that. I'm really proud of him and proud of his team," Jordan says.
"I think coach Taggart and our other football coaches have done a great job. And in the last two years, I mean, from where we have come in two years is phenomenal," Boyden says.
And the recent success has some Topper fans looking at a successful ending to this year's season.
"We're hoping to get a bowl game and I think this is the year," WKU student, Ryan Miranda predicts.
And fans believe they have the momentum.
The ticket office is extending it's hours tonight until 8.
