BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- WKU football kicked off their season earlier this afternoon, not on the field, but with an annual fan-filled event.
Today, at the Knicely Conference Center, players and coaches handed out posters, signed autographs, and met hundreds of fans of all ages.
The fan fest also had inflatables, face painting stations, and free food to the first 500 fans. One player's parent says today is not only exciting for the fans, but also for the team.
"They like to see the fans themselves. I think, also, it makes them feel more important, see the fans really who support them, which should probably make them play faster, harder, and you know, they want to impress the fans. I know the kids are all excited and that's good," Jim Roush said.
