Hilltopper fans were getting into the spirit today with football season right around the corner.
At the WKU Football Fan Fest this afternoon in Bowling Green, people got to meet the players and head coach, Bobby Petrino, in a carnival-like atmosphere for free.
WKU President Dr. Gary Ransdell said it's an important time each year.
"It's great for them to get to meet the players, to see Big Red, and the cheerleaders, and just create a lot of energy around the opening of the season. And the freshmen are moving into the residence halls this weekend. The campus is alive with a lot of energy and this is all a part of building that energy," he said.
WKU football will start the season August 31 when they face the Kentucky Wildcats in Nashville.
