WKU Holds Christmas Recital

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Pre-College Strings Group had a Christmas recital on Saturday.

Children from four years old through high school are in the Pre-College Strings Program at WKU.

It's a program designed to teach those kids the violin, viola and cello.

They've been practicing the Christmas songs for this recital since October.

"Playing lots of Christmas tunes and some classical music as well, and the kids don't know about this yet, but we'll have a secret Santa that will come and sing for us a couple songs at the conclusion of the recital," said Dr. Ching-Yi Lin, director of the program.

Dr. Lin said she hopes people will get into the holiday spirit and gain a greater appreciation for music through the annual event.

Next Saturday, the group will perform at a nursing home for its final event of the year.
