WKU Student Arrested After Gun Incident on Campus

WKU has confirmed that one of their students was arrested this afternoon after threatening other students with a gun.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- WKU has confirmed that one of their students was arrested this afternoon after threatening other students with a gun.

Around noon Wednesday, WKU PD were called about a verbal fight near Centennial Mall on Western's Campus.

WKU's Director of Media Relations Bob Skipper says police found that Michael Dearborn, 19, and a Freshman from Goodlettsville, Tennessee had allegedly threatened students for an unknown reason with a gun.

He took off running when he saw police, but they caught him a short time later.

Police say the gun was not loaded.

Dearborn was arrested and taken to the Warren County Jail on several charges, including menacing, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and wanton endangerment.
