BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Western Kentucky University students are back on campus and in class.

Wednesday afternoon, those students had the opportunity to see what Bowling Green has to offer and score some free goodies.

The Bowling Green Area Chamber Of Commerce hosted the event on the south lawn of the campus to introduce students to area businesses as part of the annual "Welcome Back Festival."

"It really just is the Chamber and Western's official 'Welcome Back to the Hill' for the 2014 new and returning students," said Rachel Goodman with Western Kentucky University.

"We have a bunch of restaurants -- anybody and everybody you could think of of the community is being represented," said Abbie Siljendahl with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.

Students said they were grateful for the event, which organizers say continues to grow every year.

For the past 20 years, they've partnered together for the event.
