WKU Working Toward Health Services Privatization

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Western Kentucky University continues working toward an agreement with Graves-gilbert Clinic to privatize its health services.

The Board's plan was to vote on an agreement at a special meeting Thursday morning.

Privatization would allow more than one million dollars from Health
Services to go toward balancing the overall budget.

Minutes into the meeting, however, the Board decided more questions need answers before moving forward.

"Board members got the draft last week and got the actual agreement ready for signature yesterday. So, they're wanting -- again, it's a general document, it's not a specific document, and I think they're wanting a bit more specificity," said Dr. Gary Ransdell, president of WKU.

The Board formed a sub-committee to handle questions about the document -- agreeing on a transparent process.

The next meeting is 10 a.m. next Thursday.
