A WKU student suffers potentially life-threatening injuries, in an alleged altercation off campus.

There are conflicting reports as to exactly what happened in that reported attack .

According to a Bowling Green Police report, Dylan Nonweiler, a Western junior from Owensboro, was attacked by three men in the 600 block of East 14th Avenue, early Sunday morning.

His girlfriend, Ashlee Nickelson, told police the three men jumped out of a passing car.

After Nonweiler and someone from the car exchanged insults, Nickelson says one of the three hit Nonweiler very hard in the back of the head and he collapsed to the ground.

But the police report also says an eyewitness from across the street says he saw Nonweiler and Nickelson arguing, and Nonweiler pushed her.

The witness says Nickelson asked for help, and when he went to her, Nonweiler pushed him.

The witness then says an unknown suspect knocked Nonweiler out.

Doctor Chad Collins at The Medical Center says, Nonweiler's head injuries are potentially life-threatening, so he was flown to Vanderbilt.
