It's only fitting that on Valentine's day, Warren County is being honored as a Heart Safe Community. Thursday morning a ceremony was held to unveil the new road signs that will be spread throughout the county, after the Kentucky Department of Public Health decided to recognize the county.
"We're able to document that we have the ability to help save lives when people have cardiac arrest in the Warren County and Bowling Green area." said Diane Sprowl of the Barren River District Health Department.
A few of the requirements to be a Heart Safe Community include public access to defibrillators, early advanced care by medical response vehicles, and a plan to continue the "Chain of Survival". Warren County joins Jefferson and Shelby Counties as the only other Heart Safe Communities in the state.
