WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- Warren RECC hosted the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo for the first time Saturday morning.
It's the 17th year for the rodeo in which linemen from Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi compete.
They are judged and rewarded for how quickly and safely they can complete several tasks in a job those in the field know can be dangerous.
"While we're having a great time here, it's always a reminder just how dangerous the business is, and one little wrong step can mean the difference between life and death and grief for the family and for the cooperative or municipal that's their home," said Scott Ramsey, the CEO of Warren RECC.
He said it could be years before the rodeo happens again in Warren County, so it was a special day for the cooperative to be able to host it.
