Winter weather can mean dangerous driving conditions.
While the best advice may be to stay off the roads during these times, Kentucky State Police have some tips on not only safe driving, but how to keep you vehicle in good condition.
Their first piece of advice begins before you ever make it on the road.
"We also want to remind people never to warm up their vehicle in an enclosed garage. If you're going to do that, and warm it up before, make sure your garage door is open because of the carbon monoxide," said Kentucky State Police Tpr. Jonathan Biven.
Other things to remember are to watch out for black ice patches, keep distance between your car and the one in front of you, make sure your tires are in good condition and properly inflated, and keep a charged phone in your car in case you do need to call for help in an emergency.
