WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (AP) -- Gov. Steve Beshear says one of them Eastern Kentucky areas hardest hit by last year's deadly tornadoes will get nearly $30 million in rebuilding funds.

The money will mostly pay for reconstruction projects in Morgan County and the city of West Liberty, which was devastated by tornadoes. Beshear joined U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers at a news conference Monday in West Liberty.

Federal, state, and local funds, as well as private donations, will finance the projects. They include reconstruction of a new Morgan County Office Building and Community Center, and construction of new county recovery center and a parking structure.

The $30 million figure includes insurance proceeds that will finance reconstruction of the new county courthouse, which was under construction when the tornadoes struck.
