A western Kentucky dog trapped in a burning home survived the ordeal thanks to the quick-thinking of firefighters.
Media reported that firefighters in Murray pulled the unresponsive dog from a smoke-filled home. Capt. Brian Mills said he performed CPR on the animal by doing chest compressions while pumping air through a mask on the dog's snout.
After about 20 minutes, the dog started coming around. It was taken to a local vet to be checked out, and is recovering nicely.
Mills called it "one of the most unique days" he's had as a firefighter.
