Widow Of Murdered Police Chief Dies
The wife of Herbert "Sprocket" Proffitt, who was fatally shot last week, passed away this weekend.
Police say, Bernice Proffitt died early yesterday morning in Louisville.
Tompkinsville police say, it is believed she had a minor stroke after her 82-year-old husband was shot and killed in his front yard last week.
Police say Bernice was in good spirits Saturday.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 6 at 1:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
Memorials are suggested to the Oak Hill Cemetery or to the American Heart Association.
Herbert Proffit's funeral was Monday in Tompkinsville.
