Winter Weather Has Grocery Stores Packed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The threat of severe weather had many people rushing to grocery stores across south central Kentucky. Many said they felt it was their last chance to stock up before the big storms. Stores in Bowling Green said eggs, milk, and bread are flying off the shelves, but they're doing their best to keep up with demand.

"We were pretty much packed most of the day. A lot of the customers were coming in looking for the basics in case they got snowed in. The milk, the bread, the eggs, some of those areas we only stock a couple times a day. Now we're checking them every thirty minutes because they could be wiped out in just a second."

Food outlets said because students were out of school, many people were coming back for more due to the fact that more people were eating at home than usual.
