Along with Breast Cancer Awareness, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Barren River Area Safe Space says one out of every four women is a victim of domestic violence.
They say domestic violence isn't always physical.
It can include verbal abuse in person and through text messaging, and stalking.
BRASS set up a photo exhibit called "One in Four" on WKU's campus to show that anyone can be a victim of domestic violence.
"They could be professionals, a doctor, a lawyer, a student, a drug addict, it doesn't matter. And as you can see there's no race. Domestic violence has no race, color, creed, whatever. It just happens," Marilyn Hockersmith, Brass Shelter Coordinator, says.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, call the 24-hour crisis line at 843-1183.
