LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A security firm is hosting a workplace violence prevention seminar next month in Louisville.
AlliedBarton Security Services is hosting the July 24 seminar. Brent O'Bryan, a vice president at AlliedBarton, says it's impossible to predict if workplace violence will occur, but employers should have a plan for that possibility.
Also in attendance will be Lt. Brent Routzahn, a member of Louisville police's SWAT team. He will do a presentation on civilian active shooter response.
O'Bryan says the only way to stop an incident before it happens is to ensure that employees are aware of a plan and participate in training.
The seminar will be held at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, in the Carl F. Pollard Gallery, beginning at 8 a.m.
