Wreath-Laying Ceremony Honors Veterans

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- An area group honored veterans during a wreath-laying ceremony Sunday afternoon in at the Warren County Courthouse.

Veterans as well as other prominent figures in the community gathered outside to sing the national anthem, see a 21 gun salute, and finally, the wreath laying.

This is the first year the Sons of the American Revolution has put on the event, but they hope to make it an annual one.

"To honor those who served our country at the holiday and we felt it was a great thing to do. We're honored to have a Pearl Harbor survivor come and join us today," said president of the Charles Duncan Chapter of the SAR, Tom Petznick.

Other wreaths also were placed in several Warren County cemeteries.
