NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Six people, including three children, are dead and four are injured after a head-on collision in Nicholasville.
Nicholasville Police Patrolman Todd White says a station wagon was traveling northbound on U.S. 27 Thursday night when it lost control, crossed the median and collided head-on with a van.
White says police are looking into the possibility that road rage or reckless driving by the driver of the station wagon caused him to lose control.
None of the victims were immediately identified. White said the two adults and three children in the station wagon were killed. One adult in the van was killed.
The injured were taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. A spokeswoman said she could not comment on their condition.
Nicholasville is about 15 miles southwest of Lexington.
