Several area Bowling Green attorneys gathered to observe Law Day at the Capitol Arts Theater Tuesday.
Law Day is put on by the Bowling Green BAR Association to recognize the importance of law in our democratic society.
Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice John Minton says Law Day provides residents with a chance to learn about law.
"It's very important for law related education for the citizenry of this county to know what goes on in courts and what lawyers do," says Chief Justice Minton.
"It's a day to just celebrate law, and the role that the legal process has and ensuring our freedoms as Americans," says Bowling Green BAR Association President Aaron Smith.
Law Day is also celebrated at the state level on May 1st each year.
