Grant Money Coming To Some Local Art Organizations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Kentucky Arts Council recently awarded more than $1.8 million in grants across the state and some of that money is coming to South Central Kentucky.

A little more than $80,000 is being awarded to the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center. The grants will be used to cover expenses including SKyPAC's free art galleries, youth theater and summer camp. Those programs aren't covered by ticket sales, but SKyPAC says it's vital to keep them operating.

Well I think art and music and the performing arts make our community a better place and grants like this really help us to be able to continue to offer these as well as our other donors and corporate sponsors," says Development Manager Faith Holley.

Other organizations receiving funding include Orchestra Kentucky, VSA Kentucky, The Public Theatre of Kentucky and the Simpson County Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
