Today the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced further construction on I-65 starting tonight.

The Department of Highways will start construction between Cave City and Horse Cave.

Tonight, traffic will be pushed down to one lane both North and Southbound from 7 PM until 7 AM.

Drivers should anticipate slow-moving traffic.

This new project is one of two construction areas on I-65.

"The first section is between Park City and Cave City. The second section which we have just started takes us on up to Horse Cave into Hart County. And what the guys will be doing is setting up a barrier wall and getting it ready to do the actual construction. We have to get everything prepped before we can actually work in the median and work on those center lanes," says Highway Department Public Information Officer, Keirsten Jaggers.

Jaggers says the highway department is adding an additional lane both North and Southbound.

The project is expected to take two years.
