First Security Bank on Cave Mill Road hosted their annual Shred Day this afternoon.
Land Shark Shredding was on site as many dropped off sensitive or unwanted documents to be securely shredded.
As part of E-Scrap they also took old TV's and electronics off of peoples hands and recycled them.
While shredding unwanted documents is a good way to keep your files organized it also protects personal information.
"It's very important to shred the sensitive material for identity theft purposes. You don't want anybody getting anything that they shouldn't have, and also it's just so it doesn't get in the wrong hands,"says Julie Emmitt, First Security Bank.
The Shred Day was aimed at giving back in more ways than one, they asked for donations throughout the day to benefit Crime Stoppers.
They plan on raising more than $700 to go towards the organization.
