The new Richardsville Elementary received a vital piece of its roof and it will lower energy costs.
The solar panels installed will cover the entire roof and help the school save money.
A panel will also be installed on the side of the building.
The Warren County School District received a grant worth 1.8 million dollars to install the solar panels.
This helped them to become the first net-zero school in the country.
"We're thrilled to be working on this project, its going to be a huge asset for Warren County. Basically everybody in the United States is going to be looking for a this project as a model," said Brad Morton.
Public Relations Coordinator of Warren County School District says they are hoping for the new building to be opened by the end of the month.
