Lexington police are offering VIP treatment to drivers who experience roadside problems.
Police Chief Ronnie Bastin says the VIP Vehicle program is designed to aid drivers with empty gas tanks, dead batteries and other roadside issues.
The program is staffed by community volunteers, who go through a training process to learn how to handle non-emergency situations.
Bastin says the volunteers will act as a supplement to officers who currently perform motorist assistance duties. The VIP Vehicle program currently has two volunteers. The Lexington Division of Police is seeking additional adult volunteers for this program.
