This month, several groups are raising awareness on sexual assault.
March is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the WKU Counseling and Testing Center, along with Hope Harbor is planning several events.
Today they kicked things off by signing a proclamation to end the assault .
Elizabeth Madagriaga, says it's important for the community to be aware of these crimes.
"It's also to give confidence to victim survivors so they realize that they're not alone and that they have the support of their community and the surrounding counties and their co-workers, their friends, their neighbors," she says.
This group is planning several events for the month of March. Ending with the national Take Back The Night rally on March 29th.
