Businesses Excited About First Day of Spring

Some say weather changes people's moods.

That rings particularly true, for those who work outdoors.

You might diagnosis it as a widespread case of spring fever.

"We stay busy everyday we're running 6 days a week now," says Jackie Kitchens, who owns a landscaping business.

From landscapers to those in the pool business, the mild winter and quick burst of spring weather has outdoor businesses seeing more green than ever.

"Business for one, but it also brings weeds, they're gonna take over now because of the early spring," says Kitchens.

"It was something funny where its not really date based its weather based, and boy the minute it hit 75 degrees it was like flipping a switch, people were calling, coming in, the tide started rolling in that's for sure," says Christopher Irvine, sales manager at Aqualand Pools.

Even Rusty Turner, whose been gardening for more than two decades and boasts more than 700 varieties of Lilys in his carefully tended yard , says he can't remember a spring quite like this.

"We've had warm winters and warm and early springs but nothing like this I can't ever remember," says Turner.

Like many others, Turner says he's anticipating what the unusually warm season will bring.

"Its great fun, we really enjoy it," says Turner.

Gardeners expect flowers, trees and shrubs to bud 1- 2 weeks early.

The Turners say most of their Lilys will be bloomed in mid June.
