Southern Kentucky Book Fest Coming Up this Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Dozens of authors and illustrators will participate in the Southern Kentucky Book Fest this week at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

The festival will be presenting a Kentucky Literary Award this year to an author from Kentucky or one whose book has a Kentucky-related theme. The winning book and author will be announced Friday, and the author will participate in the festival on Saturday.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT at Knicely Conference Center and will include several author presentations and panel discussions.

Authors expected to attend include Silas House, Heather Graham, Robert Morgan, Carl Hiaasen and Patricia Reilly Giff.

The Children's Day and Kentucky Writers Conference will be held on Friday.
