Fort Knox Announces Band to Replace Ted Nugent

Posted: 9:40 AM Apr 30, 2012
Reporter: Associated Press

A central Kentucky Army post that canceled an appearance by rocker Ted Nugent over comments he made about President Barack Obama has announced the act that will replace him.

Fort Knox officials said that classic rock group Blue Oyster Cult is now scheduled to kick off the June 23 concert at Godman Army Airfield. The lineup also includes REO Speedwagon and Styx.

The post canceled Nugent's segment of the concert after the conservative activist said at a recent National Rifle Association meeting that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if President Obama is re-elected.

Nugent has said that his words were not intended as a threat against the president, and that the Secret Service met with him and closed its case about the remarks.
