Human Remains Identified in Hopkins County

Posted: 12:27 PM May 2, 2012

Authorities in western Kentucky have identified human remains found in a field as those of a missing woman.

Hopkins County Sheriff's Department Detective Will Coursey told The Messenger of Madisonville that 35-year-old Brandi Phelps of Nortonville was identified using dental records.

She was reported missing on March 31 after disappearing the night before.

Her remains were found last week by turkey hunters.

Coursey said there weren't any signs of trauma to her body, and police do not suspect foul play.
